In the past, carpets served as a seat and cover for tribes who lived in tents. This type of carpet is distinguished by the softness and density of its wool, coming from the first shearing of Berber sheep “Marmoucha”, a breed specific to this region.

This Beni ourain rug is a Moroccan handmade rug, made between the Middle Atlas and the Atlantic Ocean of Morocco. Women in that region employed soft sheep wool and furnished it perfectly with wide diamond shapes and tiny perfect details.
